It isn’t a secret that the primary purpose of a bachelorette party is for the bridal party to go wild – enter bachelorette party drinking games.
Bridal parties are made up of a unique mix of people. Sometimes, they’re best friends and have been for decades. Other times, only knowing the bride is what everyone has in common. I’ve been a part of both types of bridal parties – and drinking games were a godsend for both.
Planning out crowd-pleasing bachelorette party drinking games is a fun, structured way to get the party going and keep downtime entertaining.
In this post, you’ll learn which drinking games are bridal party favorites and which to choose to help achieve your bachelorette party goals.

Take time to plan your bachelorette party drinking games
It’s a good idea to take some time and sift through all the different game options. Not all of them will be a fit for your bridal party, and some need setup and trial runs before you play them.
Start by looking through blog posts like this one. Pick out a good number of games you think everyone would enjoy, and from there, narrow it down. Think through the different personalities attending and how you want to encourage the guests to interact.
Don’t forget to work the games you pick into your itinerary, and make sure everything is complementary. Keep a few backup games on hand for any schedule changes, too.

Be aware of who is/is not drinking and accommodate accordingly
It’s becoming more and more common for people to opt out of drinking entirely. This, of course, is more than fine and something easy to work with if you plan ahead.
Before you plan out which games to play, ask everyone privately if they will be drinking throughout the festivities. This doesn’t have to be awkward – try a simple text that isn’t confrontational. Something like, “I’m looking forward to celebrating with you at my bachelorette party! Quick question – will you be drinking alcohol throughout the weekend? I want to make sure we have enough for everyone!”
If there’s more than one person who isn’t drinking, make sure the party isn’t just alcohol-focused. Some fun activities like hiking, beach days, or visiting popular tourist locations will help the group feel unified. Plus, those who are drinking will likely appreciate the period to recover.
Consider the underlying goal of each game
Other than getting the party started (or continuing it!) drinking games have underlying goals that they are great at achieving.
There are four main goals that bachelorette party drinking games are great at achieving:
- Icebreaking – If the group doesn’t know each other very well, use this type of game to help everyone feel comfortable.
- Pre-gaming – The bridal party can save a lot of money by consuming the majority of their alcohol before heading out to the bar. Games that focus on drinking a lot of booze are perfect for right before you head out.
- Entertaining – Games that are just plain fun to play are great for working into long stretches of downtime or keeping ready if the group needs a pick-me-up. Keep some “regular” games on hand for this purpose, too.
- Winding down – After a fun night (or nights!) out, some chill, relaxing games help create memories your bridal party will love and act as a great transitional activity before everyone heads to bed. This category of game is another one that’s great to keep ready to go, but you don’t play unless the atmosphere needs it.

Bachelorette Party Drinking Games Your Bridesmaids Will Love
The Newlywed Game
Time: 30-45 minutes
Type: Entertaining or Pre-gaming
TikTok famous, the newlywed game asks the bride’s partner to answer a set of questions about the bride in advance. They can just write their response to these questions or, to make it more fun, take a video of them answering each one.
The bridal party guesses if the person will answer correctly or incorrectly. If they correctly answer the question, everyone but the bride takes a sip of their drink. If the partner answers incorrectly, just the bride sips their drink.
Prosecco Pong
Time: 45-60 minutes
Type: Entertaining
Frat house pong, but make it fancy!
This game requires very little setup, is super cute, and is perfect for photos. Get pink prosecco to make it even more iconic.
Ring Hunt
Time: Ongoing
Type: Pre-Gaming (if you have strict “must drink if you find a ring” rules)
A ring hunt is like a scavenger hunt but cuter and more fun.
Hide these chunky plastic rings around the home base for the bachelorette party. Whoever finds the most by the end of the festivities wins a prize!
This game is easily adaptable to incorporate drinking – if you find a ring, you take a drink, or you get to have someone else take a shot. Feel free to get creative with the rules and have fun.
Telestrations After Dark
Time: 30-45 minutes
Type: Icebreaker or Winding Down
Telestrations is just like Pictionary, with the addition of the old whispering game Telephone. Telestrations after dark takes an X-rated spin on the typical game and never fails to be a crowd-pleaser.
Easily turn this into a drinking game by making the originator of a booklet take a sip/shot/etc if their word isn’t guessed correctly through all party members.
Jenga Dare
Time: 30 minutes
Type: Entertaining or Pre-Gaming, depending on the dares you choose
Take a blank jenga set and write dares on each of the pieces. As people take them out of the tower, they have to complete the dare.
Bottoms Up If…
Time: 25-30 minutes, depending on the number of questions
Type: Pre-Gaming
This game is perfect for revealing secrets about your bridal party. Put together a list of questions commonly asked during “never have I ever,” but put a bachelorette party spin on it. Then, each item is read to the group and they have to drink if they’ve done the thing being read. For example, “Bottoms up if you’ve been engaged,” or “Bottoms up if you’ve cheated on someone.” The game can be as risque or innocent as you would like – just make sure the bride has approved all the questions!
Name That Drink
Time: 30 minutes
Type: Pre-Gaming
Set out an array of drinks – both nonalcoholic and alcoholic – in the exact same cups. Blindfold an attendee and have them take a sip of a drink to guess what it is. If they guess correctly, they’re off the hook. If they don’t guess correctly, they have to drink/take a shot.
Shot Roulette
Time: 30 minutes
Type: Pre-Gaming
Fill these shot glasses with different types of liquor or make fun shot recipes. From there, the game is self-explanatory! Drink the shot glass in the spot where your ball lands.
